A Memorial Service celebrating the life and legacy of this beloved Christian lady will take place at the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, July 5, 2014, 11:00 a. m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 8:00 a. m. to service time.

Sister Zettie Mae Davenport was born August 30, 1938, in Red River Parish to the union of Joseph Johnson and Mary Clark Johnson.

Zettie received Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Timon, Louisiana. Sister Zettie Mae Davenport was an active member on the user board at St. Mark Baptist Church in Allen, Louisiana until her health failed.

Zettie was preceded in death by her mother and father, (3) brothers, (5) sisters and (1) son.
She leaves to cherish her memories, the father of her children, Dessie D. Davenport Sr., (8) children, Donald, Eddie, Peggy, Alvin, Dessie Jr., Mary, Laura, and Stacy. (3) Sisters, Evelyn Jones, Bessie Mae Huey, and Josephine Holmes. (2) Son-in- laws, Daymon Payton, and Lester Elie. (4) Daughter – in- laws, Enda, Bertha, Nancy, and Shirley. A special daughter-in-law, Vernissia Waldrup and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
