October 15, 1958 – September 21, 2024
Celebration of Life Service will unfold at the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 318 North Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 Saturday, October 5, 2024, 11:00 a. m. with interment following in the St. Augustine Baptist Church on Little River. The casketed remains will lie in state for public visitation Saturday morning from 9:00 a. m. until the start of the religious service.
Wilbur James White, Sr. was born to Amos James and Nancy Kelly on October 15, 1958 in Newellton, LA. He passed on September 21, 2024 at his residence in Alexandria, LA.
Wilbur was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to anyone who he came in contact with. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and the community.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Sharon B. White of Alexandria, LA; four sons: Wilbur J. White, Jr. of Port Gibson, MS; Eli T White of Houston, TX; Marcus J. White of Chicago, IL; Darius J. White of Alexandria, LA, and his only daughter, Shamara J. White of Alexandria, LA.
Also his brothers: Tom Kelly (Juanita) of Winnsboro, LA; Franklin Kelly (the late Demetria); Roger Kelly both of Nashville, TN; Alex Harden, Sr. (Beatrice) and Billy R. Harden (Mary) both of Port Gibson, MS and two sisters Cora Lee Thomas of Nashville, TN and Nancy Jean Kelly of Port Gibson, MS; several grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos James and Nancy Kelly, an uncle Isiah White, and two brothers Charles E. Harden and Roosevelt Kelly.
