Funeral services for Mr. Walter Dewitt Braxton Sr. will be held on Saturday October 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Natchitoches Central High School Atrium. Burial will follow in St. Luke Community Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday 6-9 p.m. at Natchitoches Central High School Atrium. Mr. Braxton known as W.D or Dub a Natchitoches Parish native passed away at the age of 90 in the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with family at his side. He was employed as a Bus Driver for the Natchitoches Parish School Board for many years and formerly served as an Alderman for the Village of Clarence, La.

Mr. Braxton was the father of the current proprietor of the NATCHITOCHES FUNERAL HOME, Calvin W. Braxton.
