Obituary

Homegoing celebration will go forth in the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 318 North Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457, 11:00 a. m. with burial following in the Montgomery Community Cemetery.  The casketed remains will lie in state Saturday morning, December 30, 2023 from 9:00 a. m. until the 11:00 religious service.

OBITUARY

Mother Virginia Brown was born in Montgomery, LA January 26, 1955 to the late Irvin Brown, Jr. and Orie Lee McCray Brown.  She transitioned  from this life December 19, 2023 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Virginia was a graduate of Montgomery High School.  She furthered her education as a 2000 graduate of Stratford Career Institute in Child Daycare Management and became a 2014 graduate of Central Louisiana Technical Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Office Technology along with several other career diplomas.  She valued education and was a lifetime learner.

Virginia accepted Christ at an early age and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Montgomery, LA.  As she grew in her faith, she was baptized in Jesus' Name and attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Winnfield, LA under Brother Henry Bush.  In 1993 she joined Victory Temple Apostolic Holiness Church in Colfax under Pastor David Veal.  In 1997 she received the gift of the Holy Ghost.  In 2007 she joined New Beginning Apostolic Ministry in Montgomery/Pineville, LA led by her brother, Pastor Amos Brown, where she remained and served until her death.  She enjoyed Bible Study, Sunday School, and was excited to be elected to Church Mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin Brown, Jr. and Orie Lee McCray Brown and her brother, Kelly Ray Brown.  She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Kevin Brown (Ball, LA), Brothers, Amos (Carla) Brown (Alexandria, LA), Mickey Brown (Montgomery, LA), Sister, Wyonia Brown (Ball, LA); two nieces, Jasmine Nash (Natchitoches, LA) and Arial (Patrick) Hall (Alexandria, LA); 3 great nieces and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and loved ones.
