Stafford Jefferson, Jr., affectionately known as “Fireman,” departed this life on October 28, 2026, in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was born on July 30, 1946, in St. Maurice, and his life carried the strength, endurance, and steady spirit of a man who served his country.
Mr. Jefferson was a soldier in the military and an Army veteran, a distinction that reflected discipline, courage, and commitment. Beyond his service, he found simple and lasting joy in fishing, a pastime that spoke to patience, quiet pleasure, and time spent close to the water. Those who knew him will remember a man whose presence was shaped by duty and by the familiar comforts of the life he loved.
He now rejoins in rest those who went before him: his sons, Stafford Jefferson III and Kesedrick Parker; his father, Stafford Jefferson Sr.; his mother, Zeffie Jefferson; his brother, Overton Jefferson; his sister, Mable Jefferson; his sisters, Laura Jefferson, Betty Walker and Susie Jefferson; his brothers, Woodrow Walker and Frank Walker; and grandson Kadarius Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving family. His children, Bobby Jefferson, Loletha Jefferson, Ernest Jefferson, Cynthia Monroe, Shirley Smith, Shawn Pikes, Lakeisha Parker, and Wanda Miles, carry forward his name and the many memories shared across the years. He is also survived by his sisters, Axie Jefferson and Wanda Jefferson, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, neices, nephews, other family, and friends who remain among those holding him close in heart and remembrance. In the lives of his family, his memory will continue to endure with warmth, gratitude, and love.
As his family and friends gather to honor him, they remember a life marked by service, family ties, and the quiet enjoyment of fishing. May the memory of Stafford Jefferson, Jr. bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
