OBITUARY Ms. Rosaline Pier Grayson Friends and family will never forget their beloved "Tezet" who left a legacy of love and caring with all those whom she was blessed to meet. This memorable lady was born near Clarence, LA, November 19, 1944, to her nurturing parents, the late Walter Pier, and Zula Small Pier. She was the sixth of eight which blessed this close knit-family unit. God called his own from earthly labor and toil to an eternal place on high March 26, 2022. Her transitioning was pronounced at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. He said to her, "Well Done!" This obedient daughter, wonderful sister, caring aunt and loyal friend pressed forward in her Christian journey. Her walk started in the fireside training bought forth in her home. It led to her publicly confessing a belief in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, being baptized and uniting with the Choctaw Island Baptist Church where she remained a faithful and serviceable member until God brought her to His home above. She was spiritually prepared! Rosaline (originally known as Rosie L.) secured her formal education under the watchful eyes of teachers in the Natchitoches Public School System. She was a graduate of Central High School in the Class of 1963. She became a popular student and gained her own measure of fame on the basketball court where she was an outstanding athlete. Her classmates said that she was known as "best basketball player, the shooter, playing the point guard and forward positions"; "The opponents had to double team her." Early in life she was married to Henry Earl Grayson. To this union no children were born. Although she did not "have any biological children, she was a "special" mother figure in the upbringing of her sisters' children and the bond she had with them was like no other. She was their "Precious Jewel." Her employment resume' includes her working at Grayson's Barbeque of Clarence, LA, and Con-Agra Poultry Company, Natchitoches, LA. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers: Philmore Pier, Willie B. Pier and Freddie Pier, two sisters, Margaret Holden, and Mary D. Weston.
She will be lovingly remembered as a Family Treasure by those who survive her including two sisters Essie Smith of Natchitoches, LA, and Betty S. Grayson (Alvin) of Clarence, LA; three Godchildren: Sabrina Houston, Jasmine Foster-Franklin, and Trevius Braden. She also leaves a host of devoted nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Rosaline's memory will linger with her dearest friends, Lucille Pattain, Mercede
