Mrs. Pearl H. Payne's Obituary
Life Celebration Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018, 12 Noon at the North Star Baptist Church, Hwy 485, Powhatan, LA. The casketed remains will lie in state at the church Saturday morning from 10:00 to service time. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Serenity Sanctum.
We are saddened by the transitioning of a lady who became an iconic figure in the Natchitoches Community and beyond. God granted her 100 years on her earthly sojourn. During that window of time she lived a service-driven life to the benefit of her God, her family, her community and her many, many students who held her in the highest of esteem. Kindness was a conquering element of her character. She will indeed be missed!
The Payne family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Pearl Payne Scholarship Fund, c/o North Star Baptist Church, P. O. Box 2647, Natchitoches, LA 71457. She was an educator extraordinaire!
