DUE TO THE UNUSUAL AMOUNT OF RAIN, THE SERVICE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR THE GRAVESIDE WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL AT 11:00 A. M. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23, 2022 WITH THE REV. JOHNNY JOHNSON OFFICIATING. VIEWING WILL TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO THE SERVICE.
THE ACTIVE PALLBEARERS AND THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY WILL THEN TRAVEL TO THE ST. DAVIS BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY IN CLOUTIERVILLE, LA FOR THE INTERRING OF THE CASKETED REAMINS.
PROTECTIVE FACIAL MASKS AND OBSERVANCE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED OF ALL ATTENDEES.
Born on June 6, 1949 to John Henry and Willie Mae Jones. Baptized at an early age at St. Davis Baptist Church in Cloutierville, La. He graduated from Springhill High School in 1967 in Cloutierville, La. He married the love of his life Dian Condet on July 10, 1971 and was married till her death in 2014.
He worked as a mechanic for Goodyear then left and became a driver for Budweiser until he retired. He also worked as a mechanic fixing cars for people in the community. He was a devoted member of the Emmanuel Temple #141, AF & AM. A member of the usher board at St. Davis Missionary Baptist church for several years.
He was a devoted husband and uncle. He enjoyed fixing on cars, watching basketball, going to church, talking and spending time with his family, friends, nieces and nephews.
He leaves to cherish his memories three sisters; Rose Gistarb (Irvin) of Cloutierville, Alberta Jones of California, and Katherine Jackson (Robert) of Lena; two brothers; Luther Jones (Cynthia) of California and Wilbert Jones of Alexandria; devoted care giver Debra Jones. He is preceded in death by his wife Dian C Jones, father: Henry Jones, mother: Willie Mae Jones, brothers: Louis Jones, Henry Jones, Melvin Jones, and sisters: Gussie Prince and Willie Dee Jones.
