Fish fry Fridays, soul food Sundays, or just neighbors dropping by for a meal has been the highlight of my life. In the tradition of family members who preceded me, barbecue brought us all together, and we were known in the community for using it to commemorate all occasions. I took pride in caring for and sharing with others, which set a glowing example for my children who have spent the last few years caring for me. I leave nothing behind, and lived a beautiful life.

To my siblings Milbert S Demery, Gloria Dean Dunkins (Rev. Raymond Dunkins, Sr), Julius Demery (Ethel Demery), please continue to love and cherish each other, and share the legacy of our parents, Marteal Bell Demery and Felix “Monk” Demery, Jr.

For my beloved children, Louis Charles, Annette Taylor (husband Buford Taylor), Glenn Ray, Crawford III, and Calvin, continue to “Dance like no one is watching, love like you’ve never been hurt, sing like no one is listening, and live like it’s heaven on earth.” Care for and support each other through good and bad times.

To my grandchildren – Senita (Blaze), Zach, Isaiah, Rebecca, Faith, Chris, Kevin, and Jocelyn. While you may not continue our traditions, keep making decisions that will enrich your lives, keeping God in the forefront.
