Williams
March 10, 1965 – April 21, 2026
Born March 10, 1965, to Atria and Elouise Williams, Atrenia Louise carried a name filled with family meaning and love. She was lovingly named after both of her parents Combining parts of her mother’s and father’s names to create the beautiful and unique name that fit her so perfectly.
She grew up in Galena Park, where many of her earliest memories and lifelong family bonds were formed. Born in Houston, Texas, she later moved to Winnfield, Louisiana with her mother as an adult, where she continued to brighten every room she entered. She had a heart that welcomed everyone and a personality that made people feel special, seen, and loved.
At an early age, she united with Lane Tabernacle CME Church in Houston, TX. After moving to Winnfield, Louisiana, she joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully read her Bible and wrote in her journal daily.
Atrenia truly loved life. She enjoyed zydeco music and loved dancing whenever she had the chance. She was also known for her unique favorite foods that brought smiles to those around her, especially her love for mustard sandwiches made with bread and cheese and a side of boiled eggs.
She loved watching wrestling and never missed her favorite soap operas. She was also an avid fan of classic television shows, especially The Andy Griffith Show, Leave It to Beaver, and Gilligan’s Island. She especially loved Bob Barker on The Price Is Right.
Her cousins will always treasure the childhood summers spent in Houston with Atrenia . Memories filled with laughter, family adventures, visits to the Battleship of Texas, and joyful days at Galveston Beach. Atrenia had a deep love for animals, and pets seemed to love her just as much as she loved them. Among her beloved companions were her cherished pets, Pablo and PK.
For the last 20 years of her life, she resided with her cousin Carolyn Evans and the late James Evans. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elouise and Atria Williams, her brother -Clyde Kennedy, and guardian James Evans.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: one nephew, Joseph Shields, Sr.; one niece-in-law, Shekeitha Shields; one great-nephew, Joseph Shields, Jr.; and one great-niece, Jasmin Shields, all of Houston, Texas; her guardian- cousin, Carolyn Evans; along with a host of family and friends who will forever treasure the love and joy she brought into their lives.
