Vicki Lynette Calhoun Allen was born on June 5, 1963, to Jasper Sr. and Mittie Calhoun in Shreveport, La. She passed on May 16, 2026. Vicki's life was focused on faith, family, and community.

Vicki married Joseph Michael Allen on November 6, 1983, and they welcomed one child, Ashley Mechelle. She cherished spending time with her tamily, engaging in cooking, shopping decorating her home, and tending to her yard.

A dedicated member of Good Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church in Powhatan, Louisiana, Vicki thrived under the leadership of Pastor Ben Taylor.

Throughout her adult life, Vicki built a dedicated career, with her most recent position being at the Registrar of Voters Office in Coushatta, Louisiana.

Preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Sr. and Mittie Calhoun and two brothers, Jasper Jr. and Donald Calhoun. 

Left to cherish her memory, her dear husband Joseph, one daughter Ashley, one grand son Ryland, two God daughters: Isha Demery and TeAunna Taylor. Her siblings: Wanda of Marthaville, La, Annie (Carl) of Shreveport, La, John Wayne Etta of Spring, Texas, Charley of Coushatta, La, Kenneth (Lolita) of Houston, Texas, Phyllis (Derrick) of Houston, Texas, and Angela (Clarence Jr.) of Lawrenceville, Ga Two aunts: Ethel Claiborne of Shreveport, La. and Betty Oliver of Los Angeles, Ca. Sister-in-law Lisa Jones of Coushatta, La and brother-in-law Tracy Jones of Mansfield, La and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A special friend Nikita Taylor.
