It is with profound sadness, yet gratitude for a life richly lived, that we announce the passing of Mary Gay Conley. Surrounded by the love of her family, Mary peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of seventy-four. Though her earthly voice has been stilled, its warmth, wisdom, and gentle melody will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her as we celebrate her remarkable life and enduring legacy.

Mary was born on October 20, 1951, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to the late William and Willie Mae Gay. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized, becoming a devoted member of First Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshipped throughout her life. A dedicated student, Mary graduated with honors from Natchitoches High School before earning her bachelor's degree from Northwestern State University. She went on to build a respected career with the Natchitoches Parish School Board, where she served with diligence and compassion until her retirement.

Mary leaves to cherish her precious memory her dear brother, Charles Gay (Erna Mary) of Natchitoches, LA, her beloved children, Damon Gay (Sheila) of McDonough, Georgia, and Quivette Cleveland (Joffrey) of Haughton, Louisiana; her five cherished grandchildren; Logan, Jalyn, Cierra, Cameron, and Ah'Miya; and her treasured great-grandchild, Sweet Pea, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Each was a source of immense joy and pride in her life.

A woman of unwavering faith, Mary dedicated her life to the Lord and instilled those same values of faith, integrity, and love in her children. She touched innumerable lives with her gentle spirit, welcoming smile, and generous heart. Her passion for cooking brought family and friends together around countless tables filled not only with delicious meals but also with love, laughter, and fellowship. She will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, sense of humor, and selfless devotion to others.

Although she is no longer physically present among us, the love Mary shared and the values she embodied will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever remain a blessing, and her legacy will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
