Mr. Willie
Edmond
Mar 25, 1947 — Apr 30, 2026
There are fellow travelers on this journey of life who we meet and our interaction soon fades; however, there are others whose meeting remains with us until our journey ends. Mr. Willie James Edmond, affectionately dubbed by family and friends, as "Chilly Willie" whose meeting with others never fades.
God brought him into this planet March 25, 1947 as a part of the Natchez, LA Community. His parents who chose him were the late Clarence Edmond and Vivian Columbus Edmond. He was the apple of their eye! Our Creator gently transported him from this place of earthly toil to a realm of eternal peace April 30, 2026. This veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps received his final and honorable discharge from God's branch of service!
Considering eternal life as an option, Willie made a public confession of his belief in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the North Star Baptist Church and was pleased with becoming a baptized believer.
This progressive young man was always glad to announce that he was a member of the Central High School Class of 1966. His many classmates cherished his memory as one of the most likeable students in their group. He will be missed!
This unforgettable young man served and was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, an accomplishment of which he was proud.
The greater portion of his employment resume was being a part of the ship's team on the water in the Offshore Industry where served with distinction until his retirement.
Willie was blessed with a longtime relationship with Erika Green of Natchitoches, LA. One of his final wishes was to make this dear companion his wife and it came to pass for this closely-knit couple in alignment with their mutual wishes.
Those who preceded him in death were his parents, Clarence and Vivian Edmond, Lisa Emond, and Elie Hoover, Sr., two aunts; Sadie C. Williams and Mary Jacobs, one uncle; Jimmy Columbus, eight siblings; Bertha Edmond, Lucille Johnson, Eugene Williams, Charlie Edmond, Jim Hoover, Elie Hoover, Jr., Louvenna Lewis, Izola Hoover, and many other relatives and friends.
Pleased to treasure his dear memory are his loving wife, Erika Green and her two children, Riko Roberson and Jaime Roberson, all of Natchitoches, LA, his cousins were more like siblings, Sandra K. Lane, Mary Alice Moses, Helen Westmoreland, Carolyn Gay, Sadie Sawyer, Melva Mitchell, along with their spouses, children and great grandchildren, and one special god child Shaniqua Hoover.
