Obituary

Ronald was born February 27, 1954 in Natchez, LA to Oreatha Jones Baptiste and Malachi Spencer. Ronald passed away unexpectedly, June 9, 2026, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He graduated from St. Matthew High School in 1972 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served from September, 1972 to September, 1974. Following his military service, he attended Central Area Trade School from October, 1974 to June, 1975. He then graduated from the Police Academy in June 1976. In 1982, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern State University. Ronald enjoyed a fulfilling career as a car salesman, earning a well-known reputation for his dedication, exceptional customer service, and ability to help others find exactly what they needed. Known as “The Miracle Worker,” he touched the lives of many throughout his career.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ronald’s greatest passion was his family. He possessed a warm and generous heart and had a remarkable ability to brighten any room he walked into. He made people laugh, feel comfortable, and know that they were valued. Always wanting the best for others, he was the kind of person who would do anything he could to help those in need. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know him. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. His love, wisdom and guidance will continue to live on through those he touched.

Ronald is survived by his wife Sandra of 40 years. His children Carlos Fobb, Chris Brown, Tiffany Spencer , Ron Spencer, and Randall Spencer all of Natchitoches, La., Krisandra Adams (Charles) and Shenequa Smith (Criston) of Alexandria. His grandchildren Decarlos, Kearra, Brooklyn, Braylon, Skylar, Kaiilee, Alayah, Amani, Daylon, and Jaqualon and great grandchildren Logan, London, Kingston, Karter, Kam and Kobe, all whom he loved dearly. His siblings, Thomas Johnson (Regina), Rev. Gus Johnson Jr., Patrick Johnson (Joyce) Audrey Walker, and Vickie Odom (William) all of Natchitoches, LA., Greg Spencer (Alexis) Danita Spencer , David Spencer (Meredith), Shelia White (Anthony) , Victor Spencer (Wendy), Curtis Johnson (Denise), Marcus Spencer (Jessica), Malfred Spencer, and Chi Aurelia Spencer all of California, Cassandra Thompson of Texas, Cheryl Collier (Simon) of Mississippi, Malachi Spencer Sr. of Arizona, Kelvin Spencer (Jensar) of Maryland, Chenelle Oates of Petersburg, VA., Richard Spencer of Georgia, Ricky Spencer of Florida, Phyliss Osby of Pleasant Hill, LA., and Mike Spencer (Evetta) of New Jersey.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Oreatha Jones Batiste, Gus Johnson Sr. and Malachi Spencer, Sr., his sisters Glenda Spencer, Susan Johnson, Marva Spencer, Laura Smith and his brother John Jones.
