Obituary

Lee Ellis Wallace was born February 2, 1950 in Marthaville, LA to the late Lee Wallace and Nettie Lee Jones Wallace. Lee was introduced to Christ at a young age and attended New Light Baptist Church in Rocks Creek, LA. He went to Allen High School and graduated in 1969. In the early 1970's he moved to Los Angelos, California.

In California he then started his career working at Bethlehem Steel and he worked there for over 10 years and he then reached retirement from that company. Then he stated another career at L&J Carpet Service where he retired from that company after about 15 years. Lee then married Gloria in the late 1970's. In early 1986 he had his first and only daughter Auresia Davis, who he loved dearly! He continued to live in Los Angelos, California until early 1996 he decided to move back to Rocks Creek, Louisiana.

He enjoyed being outside cutting grass not only at home but also at the church and the graveyard as well. He also enjoyed watching basketball. He always enjoyed company, sitting outside and enjoying family and friends. Most of all he looked forward to going across the street to his late brother Larry Wallace house and sit on the porch and listen to Johnnie Taylor on repeat every day.

Lee Ellis Wallace lived a life full of love, kindness, and grace. He touched the hearts of everyone that he met and brought warmth wherever they went. One thing that he was know for was his unique laugh. He also always consistently encouraged his nephews to be hardworking men. Most of all he loved listening to Johnnie Taylor every day! That brought him so much joy! He would always want his sister Addie Wallace to cook him her famous German Chocolate cake, that he enjoyed so much! He believed in family, friendship, and compassion — values that guided every part of his life. Lee’s laughter, wisdom, and caring spirit will always be remembered. Though we mourn the loss, we celebrate a beautiful soul whose love will live on in our hearts forever.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Wallace, his mother, Nettie Lee Jones Wallace, his brothers George Lee Wallace, Larry Wallace and Albert Abercrumbia, his granddaughter Catrice Price, his nephew Harold Hickman, his brothers-in-law McArthur Hickman and Herman Hudgen.
