Mr. Jesse
Dixon
Dec 19, 1938 — May 22, 2026
Our cherished father, Jesse Don Dixon, peacefully passed away on May 22, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on December 29, 1938, in Natchitoches, LA, to the late Lawrence and Pearl Payton Dixon.
Jesse obtained his GED from Central High School. Following his time working at the family sawmill alongside his brothers, he embarked on a career in law enforcement, serving as a police officer for the Natchitoches Civil Defense for many years. Afterward, he worked as a mechanical technician for both Ford and Chevrolet Motor Companies until his retirement.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed building projects, photography, watching western shows and movies, and attending church. Family and friends will fondly remember him as a true cowboy at heart.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-Reed Dixon, John L. Dixon, and Lawrence L. Dixon Jr.—one sister, Ernie B. Springs, and one son, Marvin Sweet. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Juanita Coatney Dixon; sisters Lena Dixon and Ethel Pearl Washington of Los Angeles, California,; brothers Clarence Dixon (Eldora), Roy Dixon, Donald Ray Dixon, of Natchitoches, La, and George Dixon (Marie) of Los Angeles, California, as well as his children Carvin Dixon, Iris Dixon, Eric Dixon, Monica Sweet, and Kathy Sweet. 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
