Freddie James, was born on December 21, 1945, to late Mr . Gilber t and Mr s. Bessie Lee Sykes passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 80. Freddie was a devoted father , grandfather , and friend, known for his warm spirit, generosity, and kindness. He accepted Chr ist at an early age at Evergreen Baptist Church of St. Maur ice La. and was a long-time member of New Morning Star Baptist Church St. Maurice La. He dedicated much of his life to his family and passion for fishing, always finding peace by the water . Freddie worked in logging business for years and retired in the early 2000's.
Preceding him in death by his parents Mr. Gilbert, and Mrs. Bessie Sykes, two brothers Robert and Eddie Sykes and Grandson Standale Sykes.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his wife Gloria Ann Sykes, Four sons David (Kay) Sykes St. Maurice LA. Stanley Sykes St. Maurice LA. LeRoss (Rose) Sykes Natchitoches LA. and Elijah (Ireana) Sykes DeRidder LA. Two Daughters Tyeshina (Johnny) Nash St. Maurice LA. and Kyeshika Johnson Monroe LA. Two Goddaughters Ketina (Tony)Houston TX. and Jammeshia Sykes Winnfield LA. Three Brothers Gilbert Sykes III, Roosvelt Sykes and Dwight Sykes. Five Sisters Elizabeth, Catherine, Rose Mary, Gloria Jean and Shirley Sykes. He also leaves Twenty Grandkids and a host of Great Grands, Nieces and Nephews.
