Obituary

Funeral Service will be celebrated at the New James Chapel Baptist Church, 21527 La Hwy 175, Pelican, LA 71063 Saturday, February 5, 2022, 11:00 a. m. with burial in the church cemetery.  The casketed remains will lie in state at the church for public visitation Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.

ALL ATTENDEES MUST WEAR PROTECTIVE FACIAL MASKS AND OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Maude Ethel Taylor McIntyre (65) transitioned from this life on the 21 st day of January 2022 at the Willis-Knighton Piermont Hospital in Shreveport, LA.

Maude Ethel affectionately known as "Pat" by her family and friends was born to the parentage of Sam and Selma (Leon) Taylor on Sunday, December 2, 1956 in Shreveport, LA.  She was reared in the Lake End, LA community with her siblings, cousins and other family members. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and became a member of the St. Paul BC at Lake End under the leadership of Rev. George Taylor. She later united with the New James Chapel BC under the leadership of Rev. Frank Williams located in Pelican LA. It was there that Maude served as a deaconess and the church treasurer for many years. She received her formal education in the Red River Parish School System. As an adult, Maude worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and or caregiver throughout Red River Parish.

During the summer of 1998, Maude joined into holy matrimony with Leonard (Len) McIntyre. She was his helpmate throughout their marriage. Together they reared seven children and three grandchildren  in their home. Len and Pat taught them the value of family such as respecting your elders and religion, giving back and being empathic, kind, and compassionate towards others.

Maude was loving, kind and generous.  She always welcomed you into her home where you felt comfortable sharing a meal and good conversation.  She also had a way of putting a smile on your face before leaving her presence. She worked well with her hands to create unique hair styles such as braiding and crafty decorations for her house such as floral arrangements, curtains, quilts and/or blankets.

Maude was preceeded in death by her parents Sam and Selma Taylor, her husband, Leonard McIntyre   4 brothers, Leon Taylor (Mane) , Sam Taylor, Jr (Dune), William Taylor (Bootsy), and  J.W. Taylor (Dee) and 5 sisters Angeline Leon- Stevens, Minnell Taylor (Mel) , Catherine Taylor (Cat), Lula K. Taylor and  Corine Taylor-Howard.

To cherish her memories are a total of 7 children she reared her Rufus Taylor, Stephanie Taylor Thomas (Rickey), Frederick Taylor (Theresa) of Coushatta, LA,  Shana Howard McIntrye of Bossier City, LA and  Candice Howard McIntyre, Carla Taylor McIntrye, Carl Taylor McIntyre all of Coushatta, LA. 3 grandchildren she reared as her own Rockel Taylor of Dayton, OH , Quindarius Taylor and Tiara Horton of Coushatta, LA  2 sisters Flora Taylor Hall of Coushatta, LA and Bobbie Taylor Anderson of Natchitoches, LA and 3 brothers Lugene Taylor, Sr. (Sandra), George Taylor (Shelia) and Henry Taylor (Debra) all of Coushatta, LA.  her mother in law, Lottie Joyce of Pelican, LA, 1 Aunt Erma Leon Cook of Shreveport, LA ,5 sister- in- laws Dorothy Taylor of Mansfield, Juanita Taylor and Evelyn Taylor of Dallas, TX , Yalaunda Taylor of Memphis, TN and  Mary McIntrye of Mansfield , LA  5 brother- in- laws Bobby McIntyre and Joe Lee McIntyre of Pelican, LA , Ed Lee McIntyre (Lily) of Shreveport, LA , Johnny McIntyre of Mansfield, LA and Gene Taylor of Bossier City, LA .  She also leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
