Obituary for Sister Mary Bush Burrell

2 Timothy 4:7-8, NLT):
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. —2 Timothy 4:7

Sister Mary Lee Bush Burrell, 91, was called home to the Lord on Jan 1, 2026. She was born in Powhatan, Louisiana on January 29, 1934 to the late George Bush, Senior and Dora Lee Williams Bush.

Mary lived in Houston, Tx. all of her adult life and was married to the late Armie Burrell who preceded her in death. She worked as a beautician— dedicating her life to improving her profession and traveling throughout the states for cosmetology seminars and conferences. She continued this process throughout the years until she retired and moved home back to Shady Grove nine years ago. She then reconnected with Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and served as a member until she spent her last six years in Natchitoches Community Care Center where she transitioned back to glory.

Mary lead a fulfilled and faithful life in her profession and her church life. She was dedication to family. She spent her years traveling often back-and-forth from Houston to Shady Grove to see about family – father mother, and visit with siblings who returned for family gathering.

When you remember, Mary Bush Burrell, you can't help but remember her vibrancy of life, her joy, her warm personality, her willingness to help and her pleasing conversational style.

Mary was preceded in death by her father George Bush Sr, mother Dora Lee Bush, brother, George Bush Jr. and leaves to cherish her memories, (3) three
Sisters; Retha Taylor, Louise, McNair, Renea Slater, and (3) three brothers; John L Bush ( Pauline) , Edward, A. Bush, and Cornelius Clint Bush (Janice) , and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. May God continue to bless us all.
