Funeral Services will be celebrated at the St. John Baptist Church of Chestnut, LA Saturday, August 31, 2013, 11:00 a. m. with burial in the church's cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church for public viewing Saturday mornng from 9:30 a. m. to service time.
London Bradley was born to Duke and Florence Bradley, May 31, 1921 in Chestnut, Louisiana. London's mother preceded him in death at a very early age; leaving London to be raised by his father and step-mother, Ollie Mae Bradley who have both preceded him in death. London had 8 Brothers and 3 Sisters, all of whom preceded him in death with the exception of Zula Lathon of Chestnut, Louisiana, and Zuma Bradley of Anchorage, Alaska.
London lived in Chestnut, Louisiana until he joined the U.S. Army, serving his country for 3 years, earning two Bronze Stars "Good Conduct" medals. Upon returning to Chestnut, he was reunited with his wife Inez Holmes Bradley, for more than 73 years upon Inez preceding him in death. From this union, 7 children were born.
London continued his career with Kansas City, Southern Railroad for over 35 years. It is to be noted that London served as a faithful member and Deacon for St. John Baptist Church, Chestnut, Louisiana for over 60 years.
London leaves to cherish his Memories:
7 children Milton Bradley (Betty) of Kansas City, Missouri; London Bradley, Jr. (Olivia) of Chicago, Illinois; Ed Bradley (Pamela) and Loretta Bradley-Thompson of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mitchell Don Bradley of Kansas City, Missouri; Ronald Bradley of St. Louis, Missouri; Melvin Lee Bradley (Verna) of Houston, Texas; 14 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
