Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with public viewing at the funeral home from 8:00 a. m. to service time. Burial will take place in Jackson Square Cemetery.
Kelvin was born February 7, 1959 in Natchitoches, La to the parentage of the late Mr. Melvin B. Thomas, Sr. and Mrs. True Miller Thomas. He was educated in the public school system of Natchitoches Parish and was a graduate of the Natchitoches-Central High School Class of 1977. He will long be remembered for his friendly and outgoing spirit which kept him from ever meeting a stranger. "45" helped anyone that he could with a willing spirit.
He was a former employee of Red River Sanitors on the campus of Northwestern State University.
Kelvin regarded life after death and accepted Christ as a personal Savior, was baptized and united with the First Baptist Church on Amulet Street family at an early age.
He was formerly married to Josephine James and their union was blessed with one daughter, Nekeisha.
This likeable young man was called from labor to reward at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center during the early morning hours of Sunday, February 5, 2012.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ms. True M. Thomas, step-father, Mr. William Roque, one daughter, Nekeisha of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Thomas Houston of Gainesville, FL, Mrs. Sandra Hayes of Natchitoches, LA, two brothers, Melvin B. Thomas, Jr. and Ricky Thomas both of Natchitoches, La., a very special friend, Ms. Kathy Davis, of Natchitoches, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
