Celebration of life service for Mrs. Josephine Paul Jefferson will go forth in the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 318 North Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 Saturday, October 29, 2022, 11:00 a. m. with entombment following in the St. Augustine Catholic Church Mausoleum, Isle Brevelle, LA. The casketed remains will lie in state at the funeral home one hour before service time.
ALL ATTENDEES ARE ASKED TO WEAR PROTECTIVE FACIAL MASKS AND TO OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING.
Obituary
Josephine Paul Jefferson, age 82, was born April 17, 1940, to the union of Luscious Paul and Tinnie
Allstock. Josephine grew up in Chestnut, LA, surrounded by her large and loving family, until uniting in
Holy Matrimony to her husband of 42 years, Mr. Jordie Jefferson Sr.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jordie Jeffeson, Jr.; five sisters, Annie
Mae Nash, Mary Paul, Jerlean Paul-Garland, Edna B. Paul, & Willie Mae Paul-Theus; and three brothers,
Otis Morris, Jack Morris, and Rufus Paul.
She served as a long time member of The Bright Morning Star Baptist Church Baptist Church in Marco,
LA until her move to Alexandria, LA. Josephine loved nothing more than to be surrounded by family and
friends and her infectious laugh warmed the hearts of many. She also enjoyed a competitive game of
dominoes, watching football & basketball, and going fishing.
Left to cherish her memories are her four children, Tessie Jefferson-Holmes of Dallas, TX, Joyce
Jefferson-Robertson of Dallas, TX, Jormaine Jefferson of Alexandria, LA, and Jordie Jefferson III
(Brittany) of Alexandria, LA; her ten grandchildren, Ikea Holmes, Cedric Robertson, Jr., Caleb
Robertson, Ceana Robertson, Brenden Jefferson, Kaydence Lachney, Keiana Jefferson, Jordie Jefferson
IV, Kailynn Jefferson, and Kwenton Jefferson; her great grandson, Cedric Robertson III; her sister,
Beatrice Davenport; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was greatly loved and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
