A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Cloutierville, LA Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be convened in the church prior to the Mass from 8:30 a. m. to 9:40 a. m. followed by recitation of the Holy Rosary. Burial will take place in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Cloutierville, LA.

Joseph Monette, 73, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Dubois Health System in Shreveport, LA.

Joseph was born January 4, 1939 to the late Edness Anglo Monette and Agness LaCour Monette of Cloutierville, LA. He was employed by Northwestern State University as a grounds keeper until he retired in 1997.

In 1984 Joseph married Grace Antee Coutee after a very long courtship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edness Anglo and Agness Monette; three brothers, Edness (Sonny), Donald (Panky) and Henry Monette; a sister, Mable Metoyer; a Godchild, William Antee, Jr., and a brother-in-law, Wilson Metoyer.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Grace Monette, a sister, Mary Silverine Antee (William), two brothers; James Monette (Bertha), and Ellis Monette (Patsy); two step children, James Patrick Coutee (Cynthia) and Gail LaCaze; three sisters-in-law, Judy Monette, Beatrice Monette and Ezella Monette along with a host nieces, nephews, God children, four step grandchildren, four step great, grandchildren, three step great, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
