Life Celebration Service will take place Saturday, October 14, 2023, 11:00 a. m. in the Winnfield Funeral Home Chapel.

Our beloved John L. Jones, III was born July 10, 1959 in California to the parentage of the late Yvonne Saunders and John L. Jones, Sr.  John affectionately known as Beaver to close family and friends departed this life October 6, 2023 in his Natchitoches, LA residence.  His earthly journey was completed.

Realizing there was life after death, John committed his life to Christ as his personal Savior under the spiritual leadership of his brother, Pastor Gus Johnson, and united with the We Care Ministries in Natchitoches, LA.

John received his education in the Natchitoches Parish Public School System where he was a very likeable student.  He graduated from Natchitoches-Central High School.

This unforgettable young man's professional path led him into becoming a self-employed painter for most of his life.

John was first married to the former Dorothy Washington Jones and this union was blessed with three sons and a daughter.  In later years, he become the husband of Debra Hudson.  At the time of his passing he was married to Charlotte Monette Jones.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Yvonne Saunders and John L. Johnson, Sr., his bonus parents who reared him from youth, Oretha Batiste and Gus Johnson, Sr. as well as a second bonus mother, Patricia Johnson,

Those who survive him and will long treasure his memory are his  children:  John L. Jones, IV of Natchitoches, LA, Joshua Jones of Baton Rouge, LA and Josiah Jones of New Orleans, LA; Nicole Pier of Natchitoches, LA and Marina Jones of Florida; his siblings: Vickie Odom (William) of Natchitoches, LA his bonus siblings: Ronald Spencer (Faye) of Alexandria, LA, Curtis Johnson (Denise) of Modesto, CA, Thomas Johnson of Natchitoches, LA, Gus Johnson, Jr. of Natchitoches, LA, Susan Johnson (Willie) of Natchitoches, LA, Patrick Johnson, Sr. (Joyce) of Natchitoches, LA, Phyllis Osby of Pleasant Hill, LA, Chanel Toussaint of Norfolk, VA and Audrey Johnson of Natchitoches, LA along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
