A celebration of life for Ms. Jennifer Dorsey will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the St. James Ministry C.O.G.I.C. 3404 Andover St. New Orleans, La 70121. Pastor James Williams will be officiating. A public visitation will be start at 10:00am until the time of service. Interment will be at Holt Cemetery, 527 City Park Ave New Orleans, La 70119.
For the Winnfield, La community that would like to pay your respects and sign book, the casketed remains will be available to view at Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home, 117 MLK Dr. Winnfield, La 71483 on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1pm-4pm.
JENNIFER'S LIFE STORY
Jennifer Dorsey was born to the late Doretha & Louis Dorsey, Sr. on July 7, 1956 in New Orleans, LA.
Jennifer found Christ at an early age, she joined under the leadership of her uncle. at the Ist New St. Mark Baptist Church.
Later, she were to join the Unity Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Lee Barnes, where she remained until moving to Winnfield, LA. Then, she fellowshipped with many churches in Winnfield.
Jennifer graduated from Booker T. Washington, and served as a dietician and caregiver. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and baby brother, Kenneth Dorsey.
Jennifer's main goal was to take care of her mother until her passing and help rearing her grandchildren and other children, she loved as her own. That was her dedication to make sure her family had what they wanted. She loved to cook and prepare delicious meals. Jennifer was an avid New Orleans Saints fan.
Jennifer's loving memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of her four children: Shawanda Dorsey-Jefferson (Carnel), Alesia Dorsey,
Travis Dorsey (Kayla), and Uretha Dorsey; seven grandchildren: Carnya Dorsey, Carnell Jefferson, Jr., Casharca Jefferson, Shalyea Jefferson, Shalia Jefferson, Alasia Gibson, and A'maura Payton; one brother, Louis Dorsey (Melisa) one niece, LaQuicha Ware-Jefferson; one nephew, Eddie Martin; and great niece and nephew, Katlyn Jefferson and Kaleb Jefferson and a host of many loving relatives and friends.
