Please join us keeping this family in prayer as they commemorate their loved ones life and legacy.  The funeral service will take place in the Winnfield Funeral Home Chapel, 318 North Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:30 p. m. hour.  The Rev. Dr. Aill Harris, Jr. will officiate at this homegoing.

Cremation will follow the service.

OBITUARY

On May 27, 2024, in His infinite wisdom, God called to rest James J. Metoyer, another one of His servants.  James was born September 16, 1952, to Christener Metoyer and the late Robert Metoyer in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

He was baptized into the Catholic faith at the St. Anne Chapel on Old River Road.  He later moved to Houston, Texas and started working at Mauser Corporation where he later retired.

James will be remembered for his infectious smile, his boisterous laugh, his enjoyment of fishing and his kind and caring spirit.  He brought light into the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory:  his mother, Christener Metoyer, his brothers, Charles Metoyer, Ricky (Michelle)  Beard, Kenny Beard and his sister, Deloris (Johnny) Lynch all of Natchitoches, Louisiana; loving aunts, Lorean Stephens and Thelmer Beard, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May James rest in peace, knowing that he was loved and cherished by all who knew him.
