James "Bubba" Cheatwood, Jr., 36, was born May 27, 1980 to the late James Cheatwood, Sr. and Janet Baldwin. He left us on June 30, 2016.

Bubba loved fishing, cooking out, gardening and pretty much any outdoor activity. He loved spending time with family and friends and was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

Bubba worked at various jobs throughout his life including industrial maintenance at Pilgrim's Pride, but the work he loved the most was with his uncle, Lumey Thomas.

Those of us left to mourn him include his son Jamel Cheatwood; wife, Blaine Sylve, stepdaughters Maja, Ariana and Alaya; his mother, Janet Fannin, sister and brother-in-law, Veronica and Michael Jackson, honorary brother, Gene "GC" Richards; nephews, Broderick Burton, Devyn Cheatwood, Quinton Scott, Douglas Colbert, Jr. and LeDarion Braxton; nieces, Breonica Colbert, LeAnna Braxton, Leayah Colbert and LeAirra Braxton; great nephew, Marquez Scott and great niece, Mariah Colbert; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Bubba was preceded in death by his first son, Jamison Cheatwood and his father, James Cheatwood, Sr., his uncle, Lumey Thomas, and his maternal grandparents, Herman and Annette Baldwin.

A memorial service will be held at the Lake Street Church of Christ, 1307 Lake Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 on July 9, 2016 at 10:00 a. m. followed by fellowship in the church's hall.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home, 318 North Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457.
