A celebration of Life will take place on February 10, 2024 in the Chapel of Winnfield Funeral Home, 117 MLK Dr. Winnfield, La 71483 at 11am.  A public viewing will be at 9am until the time of service. A burial will follow in the Winnfield Cemetery.

Our beloved Jackie Wayne Ball exchanged time for eternity on January 25, 2024, in Winnfield, Louisiana. On September 1, 1955, the Ball family welcomed the 8th child to the family whom they named Jackie Wayne Ball. Jackie was born in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Jackie publicly confessed his faith in Jesus Christ as his was baptized at an early age and united with the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Winnfield, Louisiana where crease he remained a member until his death. font

He received his education at Pinecrest and the Winn Parish School System. Jackie was a graduate of Winnfield Senior High School class of 1973. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army until his discharge.

The most important role Jackie embodied in this life was being a father. He loved spending time with his kids and cooking. They all carried a very special place in his heart.

Jackie was preceded in death by his father and mother, I.Z. and Perlene Ball; one sister, Darnella Hobdy, and two brothers, Charles Ball and Percy Ball.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Deionna Ball; four daughters, Olivia Ball of Houston, Texas, A'Kiya Phillips, A Ziya Phillips, A Riah Phillips and four sons, Jarrell Ball, Javen Ball, Jarron Carpenter, and Jace Ball of Winnfield, Louisiana; two special children whom he loved. Jamar Spears and J'Davia Scott of Houston, TX; six siblings; Donnell Ball of Auburn, CA. Catherine Ball (Daniel) and Emma Ball of Winnfield, LA, Mary Ann Thomas of Osceola, AR., Shirlyn Price of Saginaw, MI, and Jefferey Anderson of Grambling, La; one aunt, Ruthie Mae Patterson and a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
