A service celebrating the life and legacy of this centurion and outstanding citizen of our times will be held at the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, July 20, 2017, 11:00 a. m. with burial following in Lawrence Serenity Sanctum.  The remains will lie in state at the funeral home for public visitation Thursday from 8:00 a. m. to service time.   Yes, she will be missed!

Mrs. Ireaner Moses Green: The Life Journey of a Centurion

March 23, 1917 in the Bermuda, LA community marked the birth of an unforgettable and remarkable lady, the one and only Ireaner Moses Green. She was the third of four children born to the parentage of the late Bursey Moses and Harriett Williams Moses. God in His divine providence called her from time to eternity June 30, 2017 while she was a resident of Courtyard Rehabilitation Facility.

Sister Green was a memorable person who was strong in her beliefs and a woman of integrity in all of her dealings. She was an obedient daughter, a loving sister, a conscientious and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother, a loyal friend, an unwavering participant in all of the organizations she held membership with, and an upright citizen.

Her being reared in a Christian home led to an early conversion to Christianity where she prayed for a change in her life, publicly confessed her belief in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior was baptized by the late Rev. Gentry Davis in Cane River and united with the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Bermuda where she remained faithful until her health declined. Within that church family, she was one of the longest serving ushers in the church's history and was an active and dedicated member of the church for many, many years.

She entered the sacrament of Matrimony with the late Elisha Robinson, Sr. and this union was blessed with one child, Daisy Lee. Later in her adult life, she became wed to Annanaias Johnson and in the ensuing years, Alfred Mitchell and then to the late Earl Green.

Sister Green was a hard-working and industrious lady who was strong in the face of adverse situations that she took head-on and overcame. She was employed as a Domestic Engineer in the homes of others as well as a part of the Maintenance Crew at Northwestern State University.

Her affiliations include membership in the Star of Hope Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star #62 and Natchitoches Parish Voters & Civic League.

Preceding her in death were her parents and all of her siblings including two sisters, Leola Nora, Camilla Moses and one brother, Leroy Moses; a nephew, Clyde Nora and a niece, Katie Pleasant.

Those who will mourn her passing and celebrate her productive life include her daughter, Daisy Lee Jackson of Vacaville, CA, seven grandchildren: Donald, Edward, Patricia, Irene, Sherron, Terry and Tony all of California; twelve great grandchildren: Deviere, Monique, Demetria, Edward, Corey, James, Devon, D'Andre, Eli and Joey, Isiah, and Anthony all of California; eight great, great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and many, many friends.
