Funeral Services will be celebrated Saturday, February 11, 2012, 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home chapel. The body will lie in state for public viewing from 8:00 a. m. until service time. Burial will follow in Lawrence Serenity Sanctum.
Helen was born in Marthaville, Louisiana June 2, 1937; however, her family moved to Natchitoches during her early childhood and she was reared there.
During her adolescent years, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized and became a member of the Pentecost Baptist Church under the spiritual leadership of the late Rev. F. G. McHenry.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Hudson, one sister, Marie Slate Goodeau, and two brothers, L. B. Hudson and Eura Wayne Hudson.
Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Carolyn Gafford, Gustena Hudson-Akins, Joyce Johnson (Patrick), Debra Ann Jones, four sons, Sammy Hudson, Ernest Hudson (Tenona), Jerry Hudson, Minister Kenneth (Juanita); four sisters, Vera Lee Alexandria of Houston, Tx., Betty Ann Powe, Jennie (Doretha) Rachal, Eloyse (Mattie) Franklin, R. V. Jackson, Charles Hudson (Dorothy); 11 grandchildren, Byron Eagle, Cynthia Gafford, Reginald Eagle, Crystal Hudson, Whitney Johnson, Kendria Hudson, Sammy Hudson, Jr., Earnest Brent Hudson, Rella Hudson, Genesis Reliford, Jajuan Addison; nine great grandchildren, Raven Gafford, Devin Eagle, Makiyah Sam, Tyra Washington, Reginald Armstrong, Regan Davis, Amelia Eagle, Ayannah Eagle and Alyssa Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to make an acknowledgement of a special friend, Everett " Tom" Barnes.
