Family and close friends will remember Frank Charles Westmoreland as a person who appeared to others to be quiet and reserved but was actually very outgoing, friendly and possessed of a unique sense of humor with them. He was God's gift to the family October 22, 1949 in the New Town Community (currently called the Eight Mile Loop Locale) and he was their gift to God August 30, 2017 when death was pronounced at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. His parents were the late Frank Westmoreland and Alice Gay Westmoreland.

Frank was reared in a home where Christian values were emphasized. In his youth he was in regular attendance with the New Testament Church of God in the New Town Community.

His education during the formative years was obtained in the Natchitoches Parish Public School System where he graduated in the Class of 1967. His desire to become more formally trained led him to enroll at Southern University in Baton Rouge where he received an Associate Degree in Industrial Arts.

His family life had at its core his love and eventual marriage to the late Mayana Baptiste Westmoreland with whom he enjoyed a matrimonial bond of more than forty two years. Their bond was blessed with the birth of one daughter who became the apple of his eye, Jada.

His work resume' included a period of employment with the Kansas City Southern Railroad Company followed by an association with the City of Natchitoches, Louisiana as a Technician in the Power Plant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and all of his siblings with the exception of one sister.

His family will mourn his loss but treasure his memory for years to come. They include his only child, Jada Westmoreland Lee (McArthur) of Lancaster, TX; four grandchildren: Joshua Dixon, Genesis Lee, McArthur Lee, III and Matthew Lee; one sister, Mary Joyce Courtney of Natchitoches, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
