Obituary

A service of commemoration celebrating the life and legacy of Mr. Edgar Charles Bush will go forth at the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, July 29, 2023, 10:00 a. m.  Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Creston, LA off Five Forks Road.  The casketed remains will lie in state at the funeral home from 8:30 a. m. until service time. Military Honors for this retired Army Officer will be a part of the burial service.  Special honors celebrating his embracing of his American Indian heritage will take place at the interment as well.

A native of Campti,  Was born on Oct 31,1955 to Altha B. Bush and Annie Lee Richard Bush
Who both preceded him in death. Edgar accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Sanai Baptist Church in Campti Louisiana under the leadership of Reverend Robert Williams, he later became a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Youngsville Louisiana.

He attended and graduated from Campti high school in 1973; July 31 of 1973 he joined the United States Army as an infantryman to later transition to an aviation technician. He served in Desert Storm and then later became an Army Reservist where he later retired as a Sgt. first class. He became employed with the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked as an aviation inspector until he retired.

He is a former member of the Canneci N' de Band of Lipan Apache, Inc. of Louisiana and had become a member of the Nachitoches Tribe of Louisiana; and became part owner of Native Ties.

Edgar became a father to Yumekie T. James of Campti and Tonya Renee Lesane(Tyrone) , of North Carolina and Brittany Jasmine Guilbeaux of New Iberia. He married Velma Ann Holmes in 1978 to this Union 3 children were born Edgar Charles Bush Jr.(Samantha) of Clarksville TN Chari JaJuan Bush Rubin and Ashley NiCole Bush both of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his maternal/paternal grandparents; his parents; two brothers Tom Richard and John Farley; one sister Marilyn Diane Knowles, his God Father O.B. Wallace  and his God Mother Ruth Ella Demery;

He leaves to Cherish his " Beautiful Butterfly" Ms. Alfreda Mathieu of Lafayette Louisiana; his children; two bonus children Twyla Collins and Jamal Collins; his grand children Kristofer James; Delasia Richardson, Jermaine "June" Spivey, Syanne Spivey, Talia Spivey;
Taia Bush, Madison Livingston, Edgar "Three" Bush III, Lennon Rodriguez;Ronald Rubin, Taylor Rubin, Ace Rubin, Louis Rubin;
Charley White, Analey White;Kaycen Collins and Jaxxon Wiltz; Two Great grands; Thiago Rubin-Hernandez and Amalia Treore

Siblings:
Chyral Bush of Pineville Vernetta Murphy (Watson) of Campti, Walter Richard of Jeanerette, Ryan Richard(Patricia) of Princeton Texas; Eddie Winslow (Rinnie) of New Caney Texas; Reatta-Kay(Warren) of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
