The final care arrangements for Deacon Oliver Williams a/k/a "SONNY" and "BIG O" will include a celebration of his life and legacy at the Restoration Apostolic Ministries Church, 175 Fairgrounds Road, Natchitoches, LA 71457 Saturday, August 26, 2023 at High Noon. The casketed remains will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a. m. to service time. Burial with military honors will follow the service at. St. Martha Baptist Church Cemetery.
Oliver Williams was born to the late Mary Lee Williams and Aaron Petite, Sr on February 7, 1947. He
accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined St. Martha Baptist Church and in his
later years he rededicated His life unto the Lord and served faithfully until his death. Oliver enlisted in
the U.S. Army in 1968. Not many months into his enlistment, he was deployed to Vietnam. He loved
serving his country and encouraged youth to pursue a rewarding career in the military. Post military life, he held several jobs. However, when he was hired at what is currently known as Pilgrim's Pride, he ended a 25-year career in retirement.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Mae Etta Myles, Mae Audrey Myles, Artis M. Toussaint-Hall,
Jettie Toussaint, Doris Williams, Gloria Petite and one brother, Aaron Petite, Jr. One son Olevia Petite
and one daughter Carolyn Bernstein.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his lovely wife, Evon Lewis-Williams. Six daughters, Susan Sykes
(William) of St. Maurice, LA, Mary Taylor (Newman), Sernora Jackson (Randolph) and Olive Renee Brown
(Marlon) of Dallas, TX, Kaylan Williams of Houston, TX., five sons, Larry Petite (Rose) of Natchitoches, LA,
Willie Brown (Rose) and Martin Brown (Emma) of Natchez, LA, Oliver D. Conday (Takesha) of Lafayette,
LA and Stephen Winslow of Killeen, TX. Two sisters, Betty Leon of Longview, TX and Debra Hudson of
Houston, TX.; and a host of great/grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
