The celebration of life for Deacon Horn will include a wake/visitation in the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 318 North Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 Friday evening, June 17, 2022 from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. The celebration will continue with a Homegoing Service in the chapel on the next day, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 10:00 a. m. Interment will follow in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in the Vowells Mill Community.
ALL ATTENDEES ARE ASKED TO WEAR PROTECTIVE FACIAL MASKS AND EXERCISE SOCIAL DISTANCING.
A LIFE WELL LIVED
Deacon Seab Anderson Horn, a centenarian, an obedient son, a dependable brother, a devoted husband, a caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, great, great, great grandfather, unwavering soldier in the Army of Christ, a commendable employee and loyal friend was born to the union of the late Mr. Calvin Horn and Mrs. Lola Wilson Horn June 15, 1916 in the Vowells Mill Community of Natchitoches Parish. God, as the Almighty Architect of the Universe, issued the final summons to Deacon Horn June 6, 2022 surrounded by his dear family in his residence. He lifted His faithful servant from earthly toil to a higher place of praise. God said, "Well Done".
Deacon Horn will be remembered as a great man of Christian principle and steadfast determination. He was the Patriarch of the Horn and Bilberry families who had a listening ear and sage advice for those who were blessed to interact with this gentleman who was of positive disposition in this world below.
His Christian journey was shaped by his rearing in a home where morality and commendable behavior was a daily watchword. He was the youngest of 4 children who formed this tightly-knit family unit. He was inspired to pray for his conversion, publicly confess his acceptance of Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, was water baptized and united with the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church of Vowells Mill, LA. This stalwart Christian man remained active in this congregation until the advent of the COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
This gentleman of historical worthiness survived two pandemics—the Spanish Flu of 1918 and the COVID-19 pandemic of the twenty-first century. Brother Horn witnessed a long list of world events including World War 1, World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was steadfast in his faith!
Deacon Horn was honored because of his longevity by being selected as the Grand Marshall of the Provencal Fall Festival Parade in 2016, being featured as a Centenarian on the Al Roker feature on the Today Morning Television Show, being featured on his 105 (Degrees) Hot Sauce and being interviewed by Doug Warner on Channel 12 Shreveport on the occasion of his making his 105 th birthday (The Good Stuff by Doug Warner).
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Mrs. Luemmmer Bilberry Horn, Children: Donnie, Sibley, Silvie, all who died in infancy, Maggie Payton, Seab Horn, Jr., George Horn and Hazel Brown; siblings: Mary Oliphant, Landora Robinson, and Jethro Horn.
Those who survive him and will long treasure his dear memory are: Jethro Horn of Kansas City, KS, Lola Garner (Lester) of Provencal, LA, Harvey Horn (Carolyn) of Magnolia, MS, Frankie Horn (Retha) of Kansas City, KS, Willie Horn (Janet) of Kansas City, KS, Eddie Horn (Susan) of Provencal, LA, and Deborah Reliford (Edwin) of Marrero, LA and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
