The arrangements include a viewing in the Winnfield Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 318 North Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457, Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 10:00 a. m. to 10:30, a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 a. m. and the funeral service at 11:00 a. m.  Cremation will follow the service.

The name given our beloved sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend was prophetic because she became the "darling" of the family as well as her circle of friends at the Natchitoches Nursing and Rehab Center. With a larger-than-life personality, this unforgettable lady was born January 21, 1964, to the late Annie Marie Monette Head. God, in His infinite wisdom, gently carried her from time to eternity on August 17, 2019, at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center.

Being reared in a devoutly Catholic family, Darlene was baptized and made her First Communion at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA.

This memorable young lady earned her high school diploma at C. E. Ellison High School in Killeen, Texas in 1982.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Charlie and Allie Monette; her mother, Annie Marie Monette Head; and her nephew, Khalil Head.

Those who mourn her passing but will forever treasure her memory are her siblings: Louis "Cookie" Rachal, Jr. (Angela) of Natchitoches, LA; Kathy Balthazar (Andrew, Jr. "Brody") of Natchitoches, LA; Shannan Oliphant (Kenneth) of Garland, TX; Lonnie Head (Trenika) of Natchitoches, LA; Mignon Head of Atlanta, GA; and Diojenes Maurice Head of Dallas, TX. She will also be missed by her aunts: Catherine "Kitty" Lee and Marcia Faye Vincent; Uncles: David and Donald Monette of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
