A celebration of Life for Mr. Cory Pennywell will be on Saturday March 16, 2024 at 2pm in the Chapel of Winnfield Funeral Home 117 MLK Dr. Winnfield, La 71483. A public visitation will be at 11am until the time of service. Pastor G. Tomell Hamms will be officiating.

Cory Cardell Pennywell was born November 1, 1976 to Veronica Pennywell Pitman and the late Jerry Pittman Sr in Natchitoches, LA. Cory enjoyed life as a child in Winnfield, LA with his sister, Yolanda Pennywell, his brother, Jerry Pittman Jr and his late cousin Walter "Neil" Wells Jr. Cory traveled and resided in New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX as adult alongside his life partner and best friend, Nekia Russell.

Cory was gentle soul that will be forever remembered for his hugs, loving and giving heart and boastful personality. Cory did not leave others to wonder because what was on his mind he spoke boldly about without thinking twice. He was free spirit that did not hesitate or pause to travel day or night just because that is what he wanted to do. He loved his cars and his family. Cory will be missed greatly by everyone that had an opportunity to get to know him.

Cory was preceded in death by dear and precious sons, Cory Pennywell Jr and Christian Gore; his maternal grandparents, Ellis and Olivia Pennywell, his fraternal grandparents, Seth Pittman and Velma Causey.

Cory leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Veronica Pittman; his sister, Yolanda Pennywell; his brother, Jerry Pittman Jr; his love, Nekia Russell; his daughters, ShCoria Pennywell, Zakiea Sanders and I'Zahnique Russell, three grandchildren, Jayce, Journee and Rhyya along with his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
