Obituary

A Graveside Celebration will be held Monday, October 30, 2023; 11:00 a.m. at Winnfield Community Cemetery in Winnfield, LA. A public visitation will be held in the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until graveside service. Burial will be in the Winnfield Community Cemetery.

God saw fit to call one of His earthly angels home, Brenda Ann Johnson enter into her eternal life on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA.

On April 17, 1946, Brenda Ann Johnson was born to the late Warren Sr. and Lillie Mae Johnson. She accepted Christ at an early age.

Mama Brenda was a graduate of Carver High School in New Orleans, LA. She received her bachelor's degree at Southern University and received her master's degree at Grambling State University in Social Work. Later in life, she received her Evangelistic license.

During her lifetime, she was employed as a social worker at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, and also case manager at CCA in Winnfield until her retirement. After retirement, that gave her more time to go into the homes and minster, even though she was sick, she continued to minister to others, in dialysis, to the doctors, nurses, all those she met.

Mama Brenda enjoyed life, she received great joy in going to Walmart, the fair, spending time with her grandchildren and great children. In her visits to Walmart and the fair, she enjoyed meeting people and talking with them. She never failed to mention of the goodness of God.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Sr. & Lillie Mae Johnson, grandmother, Louise Mills, great grandmother, Rose Mary Wilson, aunts, Electa Wilson and Mama B. Wilson, uncles, JC Wilson and Lester (Minnie) Mills, son in law, Alvin D. Carpenter; and granddaughter, Ke'Airrea Johnson.

Mama Brenda leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter Michelle Johnson-Carpenter, five grandchildren, Antonio, Tony (Diteshia), Alexis, Chiquitha Johnson and Justin Nash; five great grandchildren, Josie, Karter, Aalia, Nala, and Alanni; one brother, Troy Johnson, Jr.; four sisters, Charmaine and Rena Johnson, Judith Martin, and Sandra Bouges; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friendsgranddaughter, Ke'Airrea Johnson.
