Audrey Jewel McGaskey Williams was born on 12/23/1931 to parents Willie and Oscar McGaskey of Marthaville, Louisiana.
After Audrey graduated from Lincoln Institute in 1951, she went on to study education at Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA, completing her degree in 1957.
She soon began her long career in education. During her illustrious career she taught throughout Natchitoches Parish, including St. Matthew, Campti High School, and Allen High School. During her teaching tenure she was instrumental in encouraging and developing of many young minds. Over the years, she often received feedback on the positive impact that she had on her students' lives. Along the way Audrey obtained a Master's degree in 1972.
On May 25,1963, Audrey married Adolphus Williams Sr (Sarge), their union produced one son Adolphus Williams, Jr.
Above all, Audrey was deeply devoted to her faith. As a Jehovah's witness, she found peace, solace, hope for life in paradise in Jehovah's Kingdom. She spent many long hours sharing the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom and the future it offers. Her unwavering commitment to her beliefs and her willingness to share her faith experience with others inspired many.
Audrey was a dedicated and active individual who spent her retirement years embracing a healthy lifestyle. She was committed to staying physically fit and continuously learning ways to improve her health. As many of you know, she was often willing to share the latest health information with her many friends.
Even after teaching for 30 years, she did not just sit down. She used her energy to find more time to spread the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom. Also, she was especially proud that she was able to start and run a successful medical transportation business for a number of years.
A passionate traveler, Audrey was fortunate to visit many beautiful places, including Germany, Greece, Mexico, and numerous destinations across the United States and Europe. She especially enjoyed traveling with her late sister Marie and nieces, cherishing the bonds they shared and the memories they created together.
Audrey was predeceased in death by her husband, Adolphus Williams, Sr. and siblings Willie Marie McGaskey Wallace, George McGaskey, Helen M. Wilson, Gloria Caruthers, and John Fairley.
She is survived by a remaining sister Verdell McGaskey of Natchitoches, Louisiana and son Adolphus Williams, Jr. and daughter-in-Law, Lisa of Greenville, South Carolina, along with a large host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, 1645 Breazeale Springs Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 SATURDAY, JANUARY 25, 2025, 11:00 A. M. THE REPAST WILL FOLLOW AT THE VENUE, 530 FRONT STREET, NATCHITOCHES, LA 71457 FROM HIGH NOON UNTIL 2:00 P. M.
AT 2:15 P. M., FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL ASSEMBLE AT THE WINNFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 318 NORTH STREET, NATCHITOCHES, LA 71457 TO FORM A PROCESSION TO THE ROSA CHAPEL CHURCH CEMETERY IN AJAX, LA FOR INTERMENT OF THE CREMATED REMAINS.
