Obituary

Richard Stampley was born on June 7, 1947, to the late James Stampley, Sr. and Luetilda Stampley.

On February 24, 1966, he united in holy matrimony with his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Delmarie Stampley, and together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, faith, and family.

Richard gave his life to Christ on July 26, 1974, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith and service. He faithfully served as pastor of Eastside COGIC and later Shekinah Glory Ministries until his Heavenly  Father called him home.

He was an extraordinary father to his seven children, exemplifying strength, commitment, and a genuine, unconditional love that extended to his grandchildren and beyond. Together, Richard and Delmarie opened their hearts and home to many, becoming spiritual parents and mentors to individuals across the world.

Richard was a devoted husband, loving father, and passionate pastor. He was also a skilled craftsman, a cowboy known affectionately as “Preacher” in the roping arena, a multi business owner, a respected leader, a loyal friend, and a natural comedian who brought joy to those around him.

By trade, he built and restored antique furniture, but his true calling extended far beyond craftsmanship. Through counsel, friendship, and  countless meaningful conversations, he helped restore lives, marriages, and relationships.

A strong soldier and protector of all whom he loved, Richard faithfully stood as a covering for his family and community. On March 27, 2026, he  was called from labor to reward and recruited into the Heavenly Host as a mighty soldier.

Richard’s life was marked by impact, integrity, and love. His legacy will  continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his story will be remembered for generations to come.
