Obituary
of
Mr. Alton "Happy Jack" LaCaze

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me
In the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Psalm 23:1-3

Alton "Happy Jack" LaCaze was born December 30, 1938 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to the marital union of the late Mr. Clarence LaCaze, Sr. and Mrs. Doris Jones LaCaze.

He confessed Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and united with the Rockford Baptist Church under the guidance of the late Rev. F. G. McHenry. In later years he chose First Baptist Church on North Street as his church family under the spiritual leadership of Rev. G. Stanley Lewis.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. Clarence LaCaze, Sr. and Mrs. Doris Jones LaCaze, three sisters, Emma Grace LaCaze Helaire, Dorothy LaCaze Lee and Betty Jean LaCaze; three brothers, Elvin LaCaze, Alvin LaCaze and Roosevelt LaCaze.

On Monday, January 9, 2012 Brother LaCaze was called from labor to reward.

Brother LaCaze was better known as "Happy Jack" to family and friends throughout his life and he was widely recognized for the exquisite care that he gave to his manicured lawn, very well maintained pick-up truck and his unique brand of landscaping his surroundings. His nickname probably came about because he was such a jovial person with a smile for everyone and every situation. He was truly a happy person who passed his joyful disposition on to others that he came in contact with every day. He will be sorely missed.

Left to cherish his memory are one son, Corey Batiste of Natchitoches, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann LaCaze Rogers of Tallulah, LA, Mrs. Nadine LaCaze Nabors (Huey) of Natchitoches, LA; two brothers, Mr. Clarence LaCaze, Jr. (Ruth) of Natchitoches, LA, and Mr. Connie Mack LaCaze (Rose) of Los Angeles, CA along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

HE IS GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
